About Dichroptics
An independent supplier working directly with an established optical-coating manufacturer in China.
Who we are
Dichroptics is a small, independent operation run by Lucas, based in China. It is not a large distributor or a multinational — and it is not (yet) an incorporated company. What it offers is direct access to good filters at a fair price, with one person accountable for your order from quotation to delivery.
The filters are made by an established Chinese optical-coating manufacturer with more than 12 years of experience in optical thin-film coating. The manufacturer measures its parts and issues a factory test report for each production batch; those reports and spectral data travel with your shipment.
Why this exists
Many research groups and instrument builders need standard fluorescence and laser-line filters but find premium-brand list prices hard to justify for every setup, spare or student build. Chinese coating capability has matured, but overseas buyers rarely have a simple, English-language way to order from it. Dichroptics bridges that gap: clear specifications, written quotations, standard international payment and tracked express shipping.
What we promise — and what we don't
- We state specs as measured and published by the manufacturer, and mark anything not yet documented as “on request” rather than guessing.
- We compare honestly. Where a Semrock or Chroma part has a better published spec (for example higher transmission or blocking), our comparison page says so.
- We don't claim certifications, partnerships or customer endorsements we can't document. If your procurement office needs specific supplier documentation, ask and we'll tell you exactly what we can provide.
- If a filter arrives out of specification, we make it right — see returns.

University and institute labs, core imaging facilities, distributors and resellers, and OEM / instrument integrators who need repeatable parts in small to medium quantities.
